Why the fuck do we always have to have this "Oh, I want them to get romantic!" crap about the Doctor and his female companion?! For the love of god, that's not what this show's about at all!

And I notice we didn't get any of this shit when Donna was the companion, so I call all you "I think 11 has feelinz for Amy but he wont act on dem oh noes!" hypocrites who don't have the first fucking idea about DW. Bet you're Americans...

Well, I'm not sure if this was aimed at me or not, but I made an anon comment above sharing my thoughts on the season so far. Like I said I don't expect there to be any romance between the Doctor and Amy, but I don't see what's so bad about liking the idea of romance. I don't go around telling people that "Their love is so true ZOMG it's CANONZ GAIZ!" I just like thinking of the possibility. The first season I saw and really enjoyed was the 4th one with Ten and Donna. I loved their friendship and thought they were hilarious. It was nice not to have lots of heavy romantic baggage between them.

As for being a true fan or not, I may be new to the series but one of the great things about it that I noticed is that it is constantly evolving and changing. The writers have a lot of freedom to change things about the story and that to me is half the fun of the show. I don't think romance ruins the series and I also think that it is perfectly fine without it.
