There is such a thing as playing the victim and blowing things up to be worse than they were for attention. Of course there is! But saying that every single person who talks about these things (talking IS a method of "dealing with things," which is something you yourself demanded, herp derp) is only an attention whore is ridiculous, and you are an idiot.
Which only leaves the question: if whining gets u so mad, why don't you take your own advice and shut the fuck up instead of coming to FS to cry about it?

N!S8: Someone on her Formspring asked this question, though they actually bothered phrasing it properly. In case you've been living under a rock for the past few months, Formspring (http://www.formspring.me) is a site that allows people to ask other people questions, ANONYMOUSLY EVEN! :OOOOO But yeah, here is the answer she gave for why she draws what she draws.
"It makes me kind of sad to see that other people's threshold for creepiness is much lower than mine. I just like to draw things I find interesting, unique and inspiring. In general, I don't find safe, non-creepy subject matters to be interesting because other people have explored them at length and often better than I can. It is in the relatively unexplored wilderness of off-color subject matter that I prefer to carve my niche, and to cater to those who crave the rare and unconventional.
I'm not deliberately trying to elicit a shocked response from the audience. Though I do get a rise out of a shocked audience reaction, I have yet to resort to doing that on purpose. I feel like if I try too hard to scare the audience, it will be obvious and will lose all its power." - Eyes5
This is funny because if you'd actually bothered to just ask her up front about it or on her Formspring, which she has supplied links to, you'd have saved yourself the trouble.
CRAAAAAAAAWLING IN MY SKIN. What it the triple fuck makes you think that people post the bad things going on in their lives in their journals to look heroic or tragic? I mean, yeah, I'm not going to deny that some people are attention whores and do that on occasion, but that isn't everyone. Maybe they post about it because writing it in their journals makes them feel better. I mean, it's their little corner of The Internet. What makes you think you have the write to tell them to stop posting there?

Anyway, at least at the end of the TV show, there are two interracial couples and we know that one of them goes on to have kids, because one of their kids will be a character in the sequel that Mike and Bryan have planned. So there's the future of the world. I'm thinking that in the current timeline with the Air Nomads gone and the Water Tribe more than decimated and the Earth Kingdom under attack, not to mention the imperialist leanings of the Fire Nation, there wasn't a lot of opportunity for the kind of travel that leads to racial intermixing. But if the imperialism had been allowed to continue, I'm sure there would have been more of it (in a not so good way).

I couldn't tell my friends, I couldn't even tell my family (it was a family member that did it). When I did finally get professional help (years later) I lied to the therapist and said nothing was wrong, that I was fine.
In other words, I dealt with it entirely on my own. I made my own peace with my abuse, and ten years later I can reasonably say that I am well-adjusted with a steady job, plenty of friends online and off, and a healthy romantic relationship.
I know that I am the exception to the rule, and "dealing with it" in the way that I did is probably not healthy for most people. I truly believe that therapy and support are the best way to heal, but I didn't have (or didn't take) those options.
I did not make this to baww, or to get attention or sympathy. This was almost entirely directed at people who brought their issues into fandom and used it as a crutch, or a way to get attention. As someone who has dealt with her issues without EVER telling ANYONE, this really pisses me off. No one online knows what happened to me. No one needs to. And using trauma as a way to get asspats is offensive to the rest of us. Stop it.
Again, I am sorry I made this secret and wish I could take it all back. It's entirely the wrong attitude, and I deserve the hate.
