Thanks to that secret from last week, I'm now slowly staring to believe that all the negative HS secrets are made by the OP of that secret, trying to garner more attention to HS.

To be fair, the first part of this comic is boring as all hell. It took me about three tries to even get to the part where Rose is introduced, and this is from someone who read all of Problem Sleuth and now sperges over Homestuck just as much as the next guy.

Maybe try looking at the start of the troll arc (Hivebent) where the art changes pretty dramatically and there is much more relationship/talky stuff going on than the dumb video-gamey sylladex shenanigans? A lot of people seem to hate the relationship aspects (especially the silly romance stuff) but I'm a DUMB GIRL and I enjoy it.

The reason people like it is because it is insanely complex and has so many callbacks, memes-in-the-making, foreshadowing etc that it makes the author look smart for remembering all this stuff, and makes you feel smart when you recognise a callback, and manages to make damn good characters that deviate from the usual terrible anime webcomic characters that are all too prevalent.

I actually liked the beginning. It's admittedly slow, much slower than later, but I thought the sylladex stuff was clever, and then act two when Rose and Dave come in and their dialog... Luv it! If the whole comic was just about John, Rose, Dave, and Jade all goofing around messing with each others stuff and fighting imps, that would be awesome with me.

Not that I don't luv where the story has gone. I really do. It's epic and super cool. I don't care quite as much for the trolls, but they're cool so whatever. I can't wait to get back into the story with the kids and find out what battles they're going to face and if they can save the world and if Jade is okay and how are they going to fight Jack...

But yeah, I liked the first few acts just as much as the later ones so... Really it's all a matter of taste.

Sorry you're sick of hearing about it, OP. But it's really just like any fandom - fans are going to express their luv for it. And, well, you can't really help that. If it's certain people in particular, maybe you can ask them not to talk about it with you. If it's just here on F!S... Well, there's nothing you can really do about that, so just, uh, hang in there and scroll past it?

I've never tried reading this comic, but F!S makes me curious. Except...I hate the art. I hate it so much. |D And I'm not a sucker for Great Detail & Accuracy or anything; it's not an aesthetic complaint so much as an "oh god, SO CREEPY!" complaint.

You are entitled to your opinion anon! :D Though, I think part of the reason it gets lots of secrets is cos of the thread in the forum that actively discusses HS secrets that turn up here, and this comm in general. But maybe not? It's hard to tell.
