Oh no, I think the fandom is great, I've introduced myself and lurk their forums all the time, even post every now and then.
I just have to get over myself and jump in, that's hard for me. But this is an issue of mine which is present in real life as well, I can never integrate into communities easily. Which kind of sucks, as I'd love to discuss it with someone. But enough complaining.

I agree with you on the Vriska part :) Yeah, some people are fans of her only to spite the haters, that's a little silly, but hey, they're free to do so. Personally, I like the tragic background of her, which gets easily overlooked by some.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it was difficult for me to jump in too, but eventually I did it and I really didn't regret it, even if it was just the Art threads. I hope that you can eventually come to terms and dive into fandom one day!

Hey. I've posted way too many HS secrets, and I'm not even from the forums.

I'm too shy to even lurk there.

Apparently many MSPA fora members hate F!S because they think F!S is for passive aggressive jerks, whiners, thinned skin people, and cowards.

I am sick of "This is the nicest community I have been in" done just for the sake of trying to counter those who have not experienced it as good as they did. People have different experiences in different communities and fandoms, many that are very unlike yours, deal with it!

If this comment becomes a new meme (i.e. "Go away, [fandom], this is not your personal secret community for your dumb [popularity level] [media type]"), so help me...

I love all of the trolls. All of them.

Rather than actively participate in the fandom via the forum, I tend to just talk about it with my friends and occasionally lurk all over the board, which I think is just as good really. I can't keep up with loads and loads of people.

I don't really know why it is that you feel that you can't get into the community, but if you want to just chat with people one-on-one it seems like a lot of fans like to use Pesterchum.

@ the first 2 paragraphs: likewise, OP. Vriska and Tavros aren't necessarily my favorite characters, but they're both awesome in their own ways. I like all the characters. All of them.

As for being part of the community, there's no reason to be shy. It's only an online forum. My suggestion is to just speak up here and there. Whether or not you want to be more vocal is up to you. You should at least try to venture outside of your comfort zone, because I know there's a ton of nice fans out there who would love to be your friend.

Anyway, lurking's a part of fandom too. Mostly all I get up to in those forums is occasional witticisms in the comic discussion thread, with short-lived jaunts to a few other threads in the same forum. Don't feel you have to put yourself out there more if you don't really feel the need to.
