And people can write whatever the hell they want, damn. Don't read the slash fic if you don't like it. The show's a bit more slashable than you might think. I think it is really odd how skewed the fanfic is, given the general (but not complete) lack of fodder, but hey, it's fandom. What do you expect?

Okay i think there is a LOT of subtext (I'm pretty sure the writers are playin it up for laughs, but its there)
also listen the way slash works a lot of times is, "I think these two people are hot, it would be cool if they make out"
there doesnt have to be a reason. It's just FUN.
Also I would write some het for the show too if there were ANY GIRLS IN IT EVER just the fact that its mostly a male cast (entirely) makes it easier to slash.

Metalocalypse premiered on August 6, 2006. When I finally went looking for fan art & fan fic in September/October of that year, with the exception of some gen art, ALL I found was slash fan fic. A ton of it with a healthy dose of slash fan art. But art was were it was more likely to find gen stuff.

Part of it is there are no regular female characters. With the exception of female Kloketeers. But they have teased us with little bits of slashiness from the first season. Not heavy, but it *is* there.

If you don't like slash, simple- don't read it or look at the art. If you still want fic & art- then make some yourself! Don't ask others to stop writing or drawing stuff they like and want to do create. Simply create your own.

If you don't think the fandom is MEHTUL enough, then you're not alone. It's a pretty common complaint on F!S. Why can't one of you write some br00tal fic and post it?
I've read Metalocalypse fic that was more disturbing than The Human Centipede, as well as shit that was more pastel-rainbows-and-hearts than a gay soap opera. There's room for variety!

Haven't seen much of the show, but from what little I have seen, I think you must be watching the super secret totally non-slashy version of it. Here's a hint: all slash needs is two male characters, who are usually not very gay at all in canon, talk to each other on screen. And if they are antagonistic with each other, or have a warm friendship? More fuel to the fire. Just imagine if a girl was in one of the guy's places, and more likely than not, the sexual tension would be canon rather than fanon.
