ITA. I don't see what Ron and Hermione have in common other than Harry. She and Viktor really seemed to click (who, at 15, writes someone a five-page letter unless they really like them?) whereas Heron was like, five books of arguing, one book of arguing and unrequited love, two thirds of a book of arguing and unrequited love and then a third of a book (less, even) of TRUE ROMANCE FOREVER

I LOVED Viktor/Hermione, and the idea of the Quidditch hotshot taking notice of the nerdy bookworm was cute.

Then the seventh book came out and Krum made those douchey comments at Bill and Fleur's wedding and dashed my little ship. :(

I've always been a little bitter that the series ended with more conventional pairings :( :( Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione was so obvious and we all knew it was coming.

Pssh, JK a genius? Lol, hardly...her not resolving the H/V relationship more is just one example of this! ;) I thought that they would be an item after GoF, I was so disappointed when it got dropped entirely...

My OTP was H/Hr, but I will freely admit that Viktor was her best suitor, and I hate how JK ruined him in book 7. I also hate the implication later or by some that she went out with Viktor only to make Ron jealous, just because she was all OOC and ridic in later books, doesn't mean she was back in GoF! (Newsflash, if you're trying to make someone jealous, you TELL the object of your actions who you're going to the ball with! *rolleyes*).

After reading the comments, I feel like I need to go read MRHP, because ya'll are remembering things about the seventh book that I do not. Character assassinations? Really?

I'll just say in response to the secret, that yeah, I liked Hermione and Krum, but I didn't mind that it wasn't developed because I never focused on the romance aspects of the books, because Rowling never did either. I was more enthralled with the main plot and left the romance to fanfic.

Threesomes > shipwars imo lol. I think Ron and Hermione are perfect together but I agree that Hermione and Viktor had a really cute thing going on. Funny how Ginny gets the OMG SLUT label when Hermione went out with just as many boys, and deliberately went on dates with boys to make others jealous. Not that I don't love Hermione and I'm neutral on Harry/Ginny (the Oedipal vibe creeps me out a little), but the double standard in fandom is frustrating.

I love JKR but she can't write shit when it comes to romance :/ Heck, I supported over half her choices for pairings and still felt a bit 'meh' inside.

(As for Hermione+Krum... I was kinda secretly hoping for a threesome between Ron, Krum & Hermione.)
