Maybe there's something you'd really like to see but you can't find it. Why not ask for help? It might be out there! Or maybe there's something you really loved reading and you want someone to geek over it with. Why not rec it to someone else? Maybe they'll love it too! Who knows, someone out there might be looking for something that sounds exactly like someone you know just created.

Don't feel bad about reccing your own stuff, either. Apparently someone else wants to see it, right?

First of all, I'd just like to throw out a general "WHERE IS THE FANDOM?" I used to be more active in fandom but I just sorta tapered off, and now that I want to participate again I have no idea where to start. :/


Preferred Medium: anything, I don't care. Art, fic, etc...
Preferred Genre: Humor and silly things are my favorite, but I sometimes like non-sappy romance and gen as well.


Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Characters/Pairings: The whole Scooby gang in general, or Buffy-, Xander-, Anya-, Spike-, and/or Giles-centric. For pairings--Anya/Xander and Buffy/Spike.


Fandom: Avatar the Last Airbender
Characters/Pairings: Any members of the Gaang, but especially Toph and Sokka. For pairings--Toph/Sokka, Toph/pretty-much-anyone-else-if-you-can-write/draw-it-convincingly.


Fandom: Invader Zim
Characters/Pairings: Zim, Gir, and Dib. Doin' stuff. Pretty much anything other than being shipped with each other.


Fandom: Pirates of the Caribbean
Characters/Pairings: For characters--pretty much anyone, but especially Jack. For pairings--anything well-written or well-drawn.


Fandom: BATMANNN...as in the Dini/Timm B:tAS and Mad Love versions

Characters/Pairings: (if any) FROLLO & GRINGOIRE!!! (other characters fine, but I especially love the dynamic between these two) or Esmeralda/Frollo where she's totally OOC, dominant and awesome, and he's IC, creepy, slightly cazy and utterly besotted.

Anything else? Details?: Re. Frollo and Grignoire, I'm all for slash, but not in this instance. I'd love to see any fic where they just stand around and chat about stuff, preferably where Frollo is in the role of instructor. Um... Or general friendship fics with the two of them, with a side order of 'if only the world was different'.

As for Esmeralda and Frollo - gimme pronz? :D :D :D (I'm not adverse to Disney-verse for this, but I'd prefer novel continuity/characterisation. OK, totally thinking about Frollo's hands now, and that's the evening gone.)

So uh I'm pretty new to Supernatural (only seen Seasons 1&2 so far) and I'm looking for anything with Meg. Can be any pairing (doesn't have to be Meg/Anybody even, I ship pretty much everything), I do prefer porn but gen is fine too.

Look for Soldeed at whofic.com. It isn't slash, but his Road to Shalka series of stories are some of the best I've read for any era of the Doctor, and I love them even though I know nothing about Shalka. Sol is outstanding and he knows how to balance tension with humor.

I'm new to Beatles fic, so are there any awesomefics/must-reads that provide a good starting point? Slash, het or gen. John/Paul would be nice, though George and Ringo can def. come too (in any combination).

I'm particulary interested in the break-up/post break-up era, bitterness, jealousy, hurt feelings, angst, the works. Does it exist?

Good luck finding any fic that doesn't have Mary Sues in it. You'll find that's the rule rather than the exception in Beatle-land, which is probably why I stopped reading it. One fic I do remember enjoying is "No Strings Attached: Or, the Big Pink Job" by D. Aviva Rothschild. Far as I know, it's still online. Read it if you can! It's fantasy-based, but wonderful for that.
