Edge doesn't get nearly enough love, even in the FFIV fandom.

I always liked how he had his angst, but he didn't wallow in it. He was sad and grieved about what happened to his parents, but then he turned around and got super pissed and then just -- didn't wallow. He kept going without running off to repent on a mountain for nearly two decades, well... wallowing. :D

This is one of the reasons FFIX is my favorite, the main character Zidane isn't angst-ridden (except one scene). He's optimistic, chivalrous (and perverted XD), helpful, virtuous, extremely clever, and just an all-around pleasant guy.

Yay Edge. When I played it through the first time I was hoping he'd get more screen time. I ship him with Rydia for the heck of it, I don't really have any reason; even less when I was playing the original. The FF4 DS version gives me a bit more to go on but yeah...haha.

Off topic, but I'm having 'Theme of Love' play at my wedding for our dance. FF4 rocks. =)

Edge~♥ FFIV is definitely my favorite FF, though IX and XII come close. And Edge is just wonderful. I wish his part in the story was longer.

Regarding the "angst-ridden woobieriffic jerkwads," I kind of disagree the fact that there's a crop of them. Yes, there's Cloud and Squall, but that's only two people. Pretty much everyone else seemed to have reasonable amounts of angst to me, with a few exceptions (though I pretend The After Years never happened and Kain got over it after a month or two). I think it's just that the angst-buckets stand out because they're the main protagonists and VII and VIII are popular.
