People always talk about fandom misogyny, but Doctor Who fandom makes me realize that the only thing preventing rampant fandom misandry is the fact that 99% of male characters conform to masculine ideals.

Are you not counting the Doctor in "male characters"? Because I can only think of, like, two Doctors out of eleven that conform to masculine ideals and even they don't do it very well.

Um... really unclear what your point is.

I think Rory's personality is pretty unattractive and I'm 100% sure I'd say the same thing if he was a lady and Amy was a dude. I also think he's a total stereotype of the 'everyday bloke', the stock male character that Moffat has used several times before and will no doubt keep using. How is he proof of misandry to the fandom? O.o
