You and me, OP :/ It's such a good series, with interesting characters, plot, the 69485794 references to the previous series AND THAT MOTHERFUCKING MUSIC (<- what i like the most about this series)... honestly, it's so fucking IRRITATING when people can't think beyond who's more worthy of ~winning the guy~ *rolls eyes* especially when the girls didn't hate each other at all!!! ._.


that said, I wanted an OT3, Sheryl/Ranka or Alto/sky end. You can guess how I feel about it ~_~ but at least i'm happy the whole wank is over |:

Although, I have problems with movie adaptations of series in general for a wide variety of reasons but I am still a bit upset that it didn't end with the romantic subplot left open or in a Menage a trois.

Also only Alto ships Alto/The Sky

Are you upset about that? Is Frontier your first Macross? Because it makes all the difference. It was fairly obvious for a Macross viewer that Sheryl was going to be chosen from the first episode. She follows the pattern of her female predecessors: a) the older woman, b) tsundere, c) meets the protagonist first (with a bad or antagonist first impression).

They even lumped Ranka with all the Macross triangle "losers" (calling her the new Basara Nekki or new Lynn Minmay and making her play Mao Nome).

I don't care about Arusherri or Aruran, but any fan of Macross franchise would have see it coming from a mile. I criticize the triangle because there was no dramatic tension or suspense. That's one of the reasons all the discussion about is so dull. Even the production was jerking people around on purpose when it was plain. ^^;
