Yes. Yes, they would. Probably not if you were sufficiently obscure -- though bigoted trolls are willing to dig through anything to find a target, it seems -- but if you got recognition, you wouldn't be safe.

If you have a friend or five with armored skin that are willing to mod for you, hey, go for it. LGB nerds are one thing, but as they say, the T might as well stand for Tomato as things stand currently. It'd be nice to have some representation of the nonhostile, nonmocking sort.

Seconding this. Find a buffer to remove the nasty stuff and go for it. Nobody's ever gonna accept any non-majority social group if people don't spread the knowledge that said group exists.
