You aren't alone.
On a different note, it kind of irritates me (idk why :C) how asexuality only comes up when said person is like,"OMG I WRITE GREAT PORN EVEN THOUGH I'M ASEXUAL!"
I mean, I guess it is a great way to share that you are asexual by talking about porn. I guess the way it's framed makes me think that it's seeking special attention. Or maybe I'm SUPER BITTER. Idk!
I just don't understand why being asexual has anything to do with your ability to write good porn. Hell, authors write about scenes of characters murdering, and torturing others and have not at all experienced or done said things.
I think it's a sign that you are possible a good author, if anything.

I think it's a bad mindset for any author to think that way.
I can only voice my opinion as an artist, but I've been told repeatedly in art school that the best artists use lots of references and research. I think the same can be said for authors, regardless of the material.
The only limitation for an author/artists is themselves.

If you draw with a somewhat realistic style and you draw a car wrong, even just a little bit off, people will notice, because they see cars all the time. If you draw a space station wrong, people who work on/with space stations might notice, but most people won't.
Most people don't know anything about torture or murder, so an author can do a bit of research and approach the subject relatively competent that they're not going to be called out. A lot of people have sex. A writer who's never had sex may approach writing a sexual situation with a bit of trepidation, because they're going into it at a sensory disadvantage to everyone else (basically, they have to hope the porn they've read/seen did a good job of getting the details right).
I dunno, just a thought.

Also, I think people who like/tend to read horror/torture would probably know some google-fu knowledge of it or at least have some comparison in order to proclaim a certain author good at it.
I feel like I'm rambling, so I'm sorry about that. However, I think you brought up some good points, that I didn't think of!
