I'll agree on the Abyss shipwars comment. 8)

Symphonia's shipwars aren't nearly as bad as most fandoms, and it's usually restricted to Lloyd/Colette and Lloyd/Sheena rivalries. At least, that's what I've seen.

But I think shipwars as a whole have gone down. The Pit of Voles isn't as flamingly rabid about the pairings, and LJers are pretty civil for the most part.

Then again, maybe I'm just looking at the wrong side of fandom. 8)

It just that before Sado-kun came along, all my friends would make of me immigrating to this country with the usual 'LOLZ ILLEGAL BORDER-CROSSING' jokes.

But after Episode 37 of Bleach, all of my fandom!RL!friends began to tell me, 'Damn, you know I'm sorry for the jokes.' People began to see me different because of him.

Less of a stereotype and more like a person.

I hated Pedro of Excel Saga for this. For being a disgusting stereotype. I love Chad for being a completely real Hispanic guy. Because Hispanic people truly do it better :)

To #1: If Patrick Stewart tells you to make it so, you'd better make it so! ;-) There're worse reasons to enjoy something. Hell, I really started getting into soup after a certain Seinfeld episode.

To #4: (Aussie politicians, or am I just blind? I have trouble telling old white men apart.)

To #6: Hamilton was one of the greats. I wonder what would have happened if his life hadn't been cut short.

To #7: I agree, that death sucked and was pointless. :-(

To #9: And I'd want to make it happen. :-) Mecha bring out the best in me!

To #10: You mean it isn't? I lose friends to WOW more frequently than I'd like. I want 'em back. :-(

To #11: Uh-oh. Do I want to know what happened to Mara? If she's been around long enough to regularly appear in the cover art, I sincerely hope she's meant to stay.

To #12: Fursuiters. I don't know what to say. That's one aspect of fandom that I don't think I'll ever be able to really comprehend.

To #13: Be proud! Some of the coolest fans I've ever known have been Hispanic, and that gets proven to me over and over again. :-)

To #14: The dude's silent and lethal. You could almost put him on the cover of a romance novel.

To #15: You're not alone. ... I mean, they don't turn me on, specifically, but I know you're not alone in fandom, trust me.

To #17: Even if it's only you, you've got to keep it alive. That's what I do for my old-timey favorites.

Basically before Sado Yasutora came along there was no well-developed Hispanics characters I could be proud about. Pedro from Excel Saga angers me because he is such an stereotypical Hispanic .

When Sado Yasutora came along, believe it or not, my fandom friends began to treat me better, like I actually was a human that enjoyed the things they did, not an punchline from a Carlos Mencia skit.

So I am thankful for Chad, as he has helped me and others appreciate, comprehend and accept my culture.

Oh yeah, about furries. They're on the same spectrum as shota or loli lovers.

As long as they don't harm real animals (I'm pretty sure that a vast majority of them wouldn't ever have sex with a real animal) and I don't have to look at it? I'm okay with it.

I have furry tendencies and even I can see it's kinda silly ^_^ No, make that REALLY silly. Doesn't stop me thinking the more harmless parts of it are cool. And it's true that most furries would never ever harm an actual animal. Some of them would, but then so do some non-furries, and they wouldn't stop just because the furry fandom stopped existing.

Fursuits give me the creeps, though. But then giant mascot suits scare the hell out of me anyway. Ever seen the Seven Dwarf suits they used to have at Disneyland? (Don't know if they still have the same ones.) I saw them on the adverts and they're really creepy.
