To be honest, I found it bland. But I think it has to do with the parts that were Terry Pratchett. Some commenter below wrote that the kids were written by Pratchett. I didn't care for the kids at all, and I found them annoying.
I liked the story, and I liked the main characters. I just found it rather bland. It was a good idea, though!
However, the characters that were interesting were the 'Horsemen' (which I assumed Neil wrote). I liked them a lot, and I wished the rest of the book had a balance like that.
But as other comments have written: it's okay if you don't like the book. There are plenty of other books out there for you to like! I was thinking about picking up 'American Gods', since that's going to be adapted into a tv series. (So is 'Omens', so I am hoping the show will be interesting.)
