Except that I'm up front with people and I don't hide behind the f-lock. I don't act all sweet just to stay in comms and then bitch behind their backs.

(Anonymous) 2011-05-05 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
if you think this is about comms, you're incorrect. breaking a f-lock is more than just "pretending to be sweet" or what the fuck you seem to think it is. it's a sense of trust. from as simple as not having your privacy out and as serious as people's lives on the line.

and you don't mind violations of other people's trust as long as they're not against you and you have an excuse to feel the victim. that's disgusting. you're disgusting.

you sicken me in ways that i can't put into words.

[identity profile] tanz-fanatika.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so then you also have an issue with the people who played informant.

This isn't life and death. It's just fandom bullshit. People bitched about me and got caught. Their penalty? Getting banned from a comm. SO not that serious. Their lives have gone on. Shouldn't everyone else's?

(Anonymous) 2011-05-05 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
The fact you believe that speaks volumes.

[identity profile] tanz-fanatika.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
So does the fact that you see fandom bullshit in the same light as actual life and death problems.

And also with you publicly praising the person that did it, like breaking someone's trust is something to be encouraged.

Maybe it's "just fandom" now, but your entire journal is f-locked, and you freely admit to bitching about people there. Not to mention personal stuff you post. How would you like that, any of it, revealed to someone who wasn't on your friends list? You don't know the consequences that might someday have if you continue to cultivate and praise such behavior.

Have a shred of decency and empathy. It's about trust. If you can't trust someone over something as inconsequential as fandom, how can you ever trust them with anything important?

[identity profile] tanz-fanatika.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Do I? I actually can't remember the last time I bitched about someone in my personal journal. Hmm.

If you're going to complain about people online, there's a pretty good chance that person's going to find out. Friends thought it was important that I know I was being talked about. I see that as being a friend. If I saw someone bitching about my friends, I'd sure want them to know. Loyalty to one person sometimes overrules loyalty to another. The two people made the mistake of bitching in front of people who happened to be more loyal to me.

If you're gonna say stuff online, be prepared for consequences.

You keep trying to make this situation bigger than it is. It's not like someone put down a boss on LJ and someone else showed that post to the boss and got the OP fired. Yes, there are lots of ways this situation could be major, but these two incidents are not. They're minor. Just because there are bad things that could happen in similar situations does not mean ALL "I told your secrets!" incidents are horrible travesties against humanity.

I also think that you should be able to trust people to be honest with you and bring problems to you. Unfortunately, that happens just about as often as people not telling on you when you've been bitchy.

you know, people have every right to want to be in a comm because they enjoy the other members or are part of the fandom, but still have complaints about moderators or other members. bitching in private is a decent way to let off steam and get to a more rational place to deal with the problem.

i mean, this is the kind of thing people do about their workplaces or schools to keep from going crazy there. for all anyone knows, if that flocked post hadn't been exposed, nothing would have happened and you'd have continued to have a sweet community member, and what's wrong with that? as long as the bitching doesn't spread outside the flock? but that person's trust was violated, what could very well have been a one-off rant or whatever was made public, and now you've proved yourself to be a world-class bitch.

[identity profile] tanz-fanatika.livejournal.com 2011-05-05 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and I know people that have gotten fired for bitching about their jobs. There's always the possibility of consequences when you go behind people's backs.

As for the bitch thing, proved that long ago. I don't know why any of you think these names are going to hurt me.

Oh, so you're own of those people who LIKES being thought of as a bitch. That explains a lot. Keep on keepin on, I guess. You're doing a stellar job of seeming childish.

Also, people can't be fired for just not liking the boss and talking about it amongst friends. If that were the ONLY reason, they could sue. Unless loyalty or only saying certain things about the company is a company policy, of course.I don't see "you can't talk shit about the mod or you will be banned" in the community rules.
