I will never understand why using a word in passing necessitates a trigger warning. This secret didn't even really discuss those things.

Some people are more easily triggered than others. My friend was electrocuted a few years back and even the word "shock" sets off panic attacks.

Although it doesn't make very much sense to put a giant bold red warning up with the word in it if it's just the word that triggers someone lol.

Yeah, I don't get it either. I'm not sure how these people can get by without constantly being triggered.

Because some people are really easily triggered. The point of triggers is that the triggered person can't control what may cause a triggered reaction, and people are trying to be respectful of that.

If someone is seriously triggered just by seeing a word, they should stay away from F!S and any other place they know it might pop up. I dislike the "people with triggers are oversensitive!" a lot but if just seeing a trigger warning actually triggers you, then yeah, no. Get out, for your own safety.

Same here. If someone is triggered by merely seeing the word with no actual discussion of the topic, surely they would be triggered by the warning itself. (Thus making the warning pointless.)

Yeah, I have to agree. If it's a graphic description or image, that's one thing, but if a person is triggered by a word that could potentially pop up anywhere in life, that's not just a reasonable thing to avoid, that's a problem and it's clearly controlling their life to an unreasonable degree. I feel like people in those cases really owe it to themselves to try to work past that in some way, because you can't live life like that. ...But I guess that's not really relevant to warnings on here, so better safe than sorry, I guess. :P
