Well think about it. Vagrant Story had one playable character, with an amazing supporting cast. You traveked through a very large area, but not very many areas. The story was gripping and completely unformulaic.

FFXII had the traditional party, with characters who didn't need to be there, like Penelo, Fran, and Vaan. You had to go throw a billion different places, all of which took forever and had a lame boss at the end. The bad guy was obvious and generic, and he didn't even do shit until the very end. Top the "adult" type of theme with chcobos, moogles, and other cutesy things, and it just kind of gets ruined.

Oh yeah, I know exactly why I disliked Final Fantasy XII vs Vagrant Story, but it truly boggles me that the same development team produced something I dislike so much (comparitively). I like other Final Fantasies with useless characters and deviating plots, dammit!
