As somebody who has skewed eyes and thus can't see in 3D anyway, I resent 3D film for the extra expense and the sheer pointlessness. If I watch 3D movies without glasses the interpolated images give me a headache; if I watch with, the cross-polarised light means that they're too dark.

So yeah. For people who get nothing from the 3D effects, 3D does indeed suck.

Ugh, same here. It's worse if you're a Zelda fan, at the moment XD;; "HOLY SHIT THE 3D IN OCARINA OF TIME IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER IF YOU PLAY WITHOUT 3D YOU'RE A LOSER." Augh, leave me alone, I'll play in 2D if I want ;_;

What's your eye issue, if you don't mind saying? (Astigmatism here. My right eye is effectively useless except for slightly expanding my field of view, and my vision with both eyes open and with just my left eye open is identical.)

They can't focus together properly because they point in slightly different directions (possibly some derivative of a lazy eye - it was diagnosed when I was twelve, they told me they couldn't do anything about it until I was eighteen, and then they didn't). Both eyes work individually, but I can't make them work together. There would probably be an optimal distance where I can see 3D, but that's never going to be found in a cinema.

Because it's been an issue for so long, I've always tended to heavily favour one eye (usually the right) to the extent where I simply can't use both any more (my depth perception is legendarily awful); and since the entire point of 3D is the brain reinterpreting the slightly different images it gets from each eye... yeah. (The vision in both eyes is also deteriorating fast anyway, but that's a separate issue related to a severe bout of iritis about seven years ago. I really need to get to an optician...)

Also, the 3DS can fuck off.

Ooh, okay... damn. And yeah, I favour my left. I can read without my glasses just fine with my left eye, but if my vision was like that of my right eye, I'd be verging on legally blind. And I'm going to an optician next weekend... for the first time in three and a half years...

Aww, I totally want a 3DS. 3D issues aside, dude, it has the power of a console in a HANDHELD 8D And it has my favourite game of all time on it!
