(Anonymous) 2011-06-21 01:35 am (UTC)(link)I don't even remember who it was, but in class we watched a film with a black actor whose last name was Lee, and I was like, "I thought only Chinese people were named Lee!"
And then I was really confused because my full Chinese friend got pissy and told me "Sometimes, you can be SO RACIST." so I didn't know if like, this actor was adopted by a Chinese family, or if I had somehow stumbled upon something horrible I wasn't supposed to talk about. *shrug*

Anyway, when someone finally pointed out Robert E. Lee, who I had known about before, I headdesked really hard. :|
