In most fandoms there is. Everyone's gotta be fucking someone, no one can be single or just friends with someone (unless they are perceived as too "undesirable" to pair by the fandom, then they just become comic relief or worse), 90% of the time they are also fucking. There's no such thing as platonic relationships in a lot of fandoms.
