So, wait, girls don't count as ordinary humans? Ok, yes, after a little research I see the two girls she's with in that picture aren't ordinary humans, but the way you worded the secret is a little iffy.

I think that was the point? By 'a girl' OP probably just meant one who isn't an ordinary human. Not a rarity for that series.

WTF are you on about, you silly person. The implication was completely clear to anyone who knows the series (or does "a little research") - as long as they meet Haruhi's canon citeria of being "not an ordinary human," a potential love interest would not be dismissed from consideration as a love interest just for being a girl.

How the furgle you managed to twist that into "girls don't count as ordinary humans" I still can't figure out. Your reading comprehension is iffy, not OP's phrasing.

I think OP means that, basically, most people wouldn't include another woman as a potential romantic/sexual interest for Haruhi because everyone's straight until proved otherwise/specifically stated, amirite, and s/he (I'm sorry, OP, I don't want to assume) is glad because that quote very heavily implies that she's not really adverse to the idea of doing it with another woman/wouldn't mind being interested in someone of the same sex/however you want to word it.

Feel totally free to correct me if I'm wrong, too. Obviously I can't know what OP meant.

Considering how often Haruhi blatantly molests Mikuru, she probably wouldn't be totally averse to the idea herself. Of course, Mikuru would first have to stop acting like a terrified 11-year-old all the time if they were going to have an actual relationship...

You think the problem is with Mikuru? I think it's *Haruhi* who has a lot to work on before she has a relationship. Mikuru... is shy but acts pretty normal for a girl her age who's never been in a relationship before. All she needs to learn is how to stand up for herself. Haruhi needs to learn not to treat all her friends like crap...

haruhi was creepy. not that mikuru wasn't annoying, but i don't think that molestation is kawaii

It is a bit of a crack pairing. But, it is really the only girl/girl pairing in the series that makes sense to me~

Agreed. I honestly only like her paired with Haruhi.

To those who haven't seen the show, the full quote is "As long as it's not an ordinary human, I don't care if it's a boy or a girl" (or something along those lines). So yeah, I'd say Haruhi would definitely be fine with being with a girl. She's weirdness-sexual.

I've gotta disagree with you on the Haruhi/Mikuru thing, though. That relationship would be way too rapey for my liking. Though now that I think about it, it would be interesting to see a fic where Haruhi realizes she is being too much of a jerk to have a real relationship with Mikuru and takes steps to correct it and then they get together and everyone is happy. :|a

Sadly, most Haruhi/Mikuru fics consist mostly of Haruhi abusing Mikuru in terrible ways. I really do like your idea though.

I just looked it up on wikipedia and...wow. Haruhi seems like a really horrible person, and I feel really bad for Mikuru. I mean...the humiliation and terrorizing is just awful.

Of all the people to have the power to affect reality, it had to be someone like her! *shakes head*

Totally agree with you, this is one of my favorite pairings of the series.

There really needs to be more good fan art/fics of them together.

Considering Japan is allergic to portraying same-sex relationships, I can't see this happening. We usually only get pining lesbians after a straight girl. Anyway, I can't see that couple happening, considering Mikuru is terrified of Haruhi (for good reason). I'd rather see Haruhi hook up with Kyon; I am faaar more invested in that pairing than I should be,

I have mixed feelings about Haruhi and Kyon as a couple. The more the series goes on it seems like those two have nearly nothing in common. That might just be me though, because I also ship Kyon/Yuki.
