Those were the days ;__________; And animation used to be fantastic too.

The Nazis made careful use of symbolism to be appealing to the masses. They borrowed from ancient India (the swatsika (sp)), and from ancient Rome (those rods with an eagle on them which were carried in parades). Hitler was a master at charming people at least initially until he went completely bonkers.

Thanks for reminding me to refill my birth control ♥

Resisting urge to break out the "She was young and naive" answer...

1. Hmmm I don't know if I would describe squirrel guts on a car as being awesome. The rest of it would be though.

8. Join the club. I've found that half of many fandoms seem to have enormous trouble writing in character.

12. People who insist on telling you spoilers of a fandom of yours are not your friends.

18. Oh please, if you want to cause wank, can't you at least be a little more original?

24. Who is this referring to?

25 So which half are you in?

Counting trannies, y/n?

I'm just wondering where you can get 19's necklace.

[identity profile] koizumi.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
9. HAHAHA ME TOO ♥

19. I'm sorry, but.. no, I don't think a lot of people are like you are. That's just.. haha, wow. Get some help, please.

[identity profile] failaga.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say it's most likely from this place:

http://japanimation.com/

If not, try google- it finds most things

OMG, I can't believe I saw a secret for that. :DDD

[identity profile] pumkin-eater.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ah! I totally meant 25! I agree with 20 as well~

Whoopsies~ ^_^;;;;;;

The don't insist, per se, but rather look up piles of spoiler-y info and then they accidentally spill it while talking to me with alarming regularity. For example!

Me: Wasn't that thing [Character] did in that one episode awesome?
Them: Oh, I know! I mean, I couldn't believe it when I read [Character] is supposed to die later on, because they're so cool, you know?
Me: .....WHAT.
Them: ....Oh yeah, that was a spoiler, wasn't it? Oops.

Not an exact quote, but that's pretty much what happened. 'Cause of them I'll probably never watch FMA or Bleach (their favorites) since they've effectively ruined 90% of the series for me! DX

*happens, not happened. Beacuse this sort of thing happens quite frequently.

[identity profile] maeda.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
5 I have this problem, too. Not so much the IMing part, because most people are more relaxed in that kind of informal setting and thus more liable to make mistakes, but otherwise...

18 What I'm really curious about is - if you happen to be serious - what fandom? I want to know if it has a particular bearing on this.

19 I love how many people are going crazy about this... OF COURSE a lot of people feel this way; is it really that surprising?
ext_6137: Yoruichi is really hot :D (Default)

[identity profile] jetamors.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, thanks!

12

(Anonymous) 2007-06-18 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks a bunch :) I feel a lot better about it! Sometimes I don't feel like I'm being much of a fan by keeping my nose out of things, but there's just a lot of factors common in (almost any) fandom that frighten me away.

Re: Oh, and addtionally 12

(Anonymous) 2007-06-18 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Glad it's not just me! I think attempting to join a world full of shipping wars and character bashing and all that other "fun" stuff could ruin the magic a show has for me, and I'd never want that to happen!

and

GTFO, FOAD, bish. *points to macro* Go suck Sakura now. Or if you like more muscly, that man on the left would love a tongue like yours.
fangirlism: (Crazy - w-inds.)

[personal profile] fangirlism 2007-06-18 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
4. So not a JE girl. *shrugs* But the middle one on the top looks a little like Ogata Ryuichi, so I was about to *squee* "OMG! w-inds. secret!!" But alas, not them.
12. See I'm quite the opposite. If I find an obscure series, I at least want to tell online friends. I like being part of a fandom.
18, 19, 20. Not touching those. Nope.
21. That's so me too.
22. I have somewhat the opposite deal. I got into an anime because of the music.
25. Wha... hey what the hell?! Not cool!

[identity profile] ex-parle.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I'm resisting the urge to break out the "She thought condoms were really just balloons...".

Re: # 9, 18, 19, 20.

[identity profile] ex-parle.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
18 - woooooow, that's taking it a little TOO far, huh? :|

[identity profile] arch-duke.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Number 2!!:
awwww, I love Robin and Franky. Personally I think everybody should ship them but if not, they should love them. x3

Number 18:
Seriously, dude, are you TRYING to piss people off? All of the people I know are either gay, bisexual, yaoi fangirls, support gays, bisexuals and yaoi fangirls and their endeavors, OR are compassionate people; odds are this post would piss all of them off, and I'm included. I love yaoi and I love women. I'm a gay yaoi fangirl, and I take personal offense to this. Not that anybody cares, but just sayin'. Get off your high horse, sweet cheeks, we're everywhere, gayin' up ur fandom.

5. Massive amounts of 'amen!'

[identity profile] ex-parle.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Child neglect, especially when it's over something like BLEACH. I mean fuck, CMON. If all you care and can think about is how a FICTIONAL character is going to die or what the hell is going to happen to them after the "STAY TUNED FOR NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE OF ________", yeah, you need help. :/
