OP here. I called the hotline once and got put on hold after a couple minutes so the guy could take someone else's call. Not really helpful.

I'm incredibly sorry to hear that OP. My husband didn't call the helpline. Neither of us knew it existed at the time. Knowing my husband I don't think he would have called had he known about it. Instead he went to an ER, alone, in the middle of the night and asked the first nurse he saw for help.

Keep asking for help OP. It is out there for you and it's worth it.
