Huh, I thought the bromance was fine. They hug a lot more in the movies, and they share that amazing moment where they look into each other's eyes in DH part 2. I can kinda see where you'd get that, I guess. There were a few moments left to be desired but... Just try to enjoy what's there? Iunno.

WHERE IS THE HUGGING?! When your best friend is about to go die, I think you're going to hug the guy. If it's (what you believe will be) the last time you ever see him, I don't think you going to say, "Whoa, dude, no homo." They didn't even have an intense shoulder squeeze + meaningful stare in the eyes.

The bit that pissed me off the most was how Harry only addressed Hermione before going into the forest and Ron just sort of... stood there.

That bugged me too. Like Harry thinks he's gonna die and he doesn't even hug his other best friend?

This. I think they were trying to go for some sort of "Their friendship is so epic they just have to look at each other" vibe, but it... really failed. Just hug, dammit.

Word. I don't even care for the characters, but it looked ridiculous. You're not saying goodbye to Hermione and her boyfriend you just met! This is one of your best friends!

Just be glad Ron was there. I'm sure if it were completely up to Steve Kloves Ron would be busy off screen. Lord forbid RON get in the way of Harry and Hermione.

The only film I was satisfied with in terms of his character was Order of the Phoenix. Whoever the screenwriter who wasn't Kloves was, he did an excellent job on all accounts (not just making Ron legit awesome).

I am so with you.

I really love Ron and I think Rupert Grint does a great job but the (later) films just seem to forget he exists.

Agreed so hard, OP.

My biggest problem with the HP movies was how they treated Ron and his relationship to Harry. I had no sense of them being best friends. Ron was the guy who sat in the background while Harry and Hermione did their BFF thing (the last scene in HBP makes me rage, with Ron just chilling in the background while Hermione tells Harry they'll go with him to look for the horcruxes). And the scene where Ron comes back and Harry looks like he doesn't even care, ugh. Pisses me off :(

And don't even get me started on DH2. Ron had just lost a brother and when his best friend who he regards as a brother and probably even likes more than some of his ACTUAL brothers says he's off to die, a weeping Hermione offers to come with and clings onto Harry while Ron's all 'okay'. I hate Kloves so much, dear god. And Yates.

I totally agree.

OMG This completely. It was so sweet with the two of them in the first film, like when they're hanging out in the train or during Christmas when they unwrap the gifts together.

I agree so hard. The fact that they cut the scene after Ron destroyed the locket horcrux just made me ridiculously angry. Instead of getting a brohug and a touching scene with his best friend, he got another comedy relief line and the scene ended.

Darn that Steve Kloves. Ya know, Ron was actually by far my least favorite of the three in the books, so I should've been fine with it, but unfortunately Rupert Grint turned out to be by far the best actor out of the trio, and it was a shame to see him wasted.

I still get sick at heart to remember that Hermione was given the "if you want to kill Harry, you have to go through us first" instead of Ron. >:|
