I think it's all relative to how much you love them. Some people love their pets more than their siblings. Therefore they'd be sadder if their pets died than their siblings. Not everyone has loving relationships with their families. Just saying.

Gonna have to disagree with you there.

Thanks to COPPA, 13 years old is the standard for immaturity on the Internet.

*deliberately misses the point*

1) It's "menagerie", usually I don't care about spelling mistakes/typos in secrets but you could have used other words, so this makes you look like you're trying too hard to sound smart

2)TF2 was never serious, none of the characters were ever serious

3)"Baww the canon medic isn't anything like the medic in my favourite adult medic fics......"

[identity profile] billybobfred0.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Medic, a buffoon?

... Did we watch the same video, here?

[identity profile] dgcatanisiri.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
And I'm not saying that either of them lack fans. They were just the first two reviews of his of not strictly popular movies that came to mind, and Alaska mainly because it was fairly recent.

WHY HELLO THERE SEXY MAN

[identity profile] ariseishirou.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Everyone knows grown men don't cry; especially about relationships.

Ever.

Well, except when their village is burned to the ground and/or their girlfriend is fridged. Then they shed a few silent, manly tears before taking revenge in a blaze of glory.

They never, like, cry because the woman they love hurts or leaves them. Or they lose their jobs. Or they find out their children are seriously ill. Or because a film is sad. There weren't, like, hundreds of grown men crying over the opening scenes of Up. Never! Ever! That's for little boys! Or worse, icky people with vaginas.

But that IS a cool story! :D

Where did you put Catelyn? I never could decide if she was Hufflepuff or Slytherin

[identity profile] myrioddity.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
...I would be. |D

Aww, I like getting used books with notes like that in there. I like to think about what it meant to the person who received the book and why it was given away.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-04 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I think we went with Puff? That's probably where I'd put her.

(During the same conversation, we tried to figure out which of our friends was which ASOIAF character. Which generally didn't work that well, but we realized we know someone who is the PERFECT RL 20-something hipster analogy of Littlefinger, which was a very hilarious realization).

[identity profile] coyoteseven.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I can see that The Nothing has gotten to you!

[identity profile] cousinmary.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I was being all polite and delicate, but yeah, taking someone else's name mean a hell of a lot more than "Oooo, china pattern!"

When asked why I didn't change my name I usually answer, "because I married him, he didn't adopt me."

[identity profile] cousinmary.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I was thinking more of a "muggle pride" thing. Really, how many wizarding families are there? I bet most would have heard 'Granger' and -known- she wasn't a pure blood. Same idea as Anglicizing a foreign name to make it sound more American/British/somethingelseish.

So true- I cringed with embarrassment over HBC's Worst Pies in London. I hope you didn't get to the madhouse scene- the way the film does it manages to totally confuse Anthony and Johanna's charactera.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-04 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, it was Gabriel making Sam a car and the boys play CSI. Dean was fanboying all on his own.

While you are right that there has been only one non-subtext hint that Dean might not be straight, I doubt he's a Kinsey 0 (he strikes me more as a 1 or a very subdued 2).

[identity profile] murderershair.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
If you're open to wild crack, there's a great fic floating around called Secondary Characters that has Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna- and there's a pretty big focus on Setsuna, as I recall.

[identity profile] murderershair.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
I can't decide what would be more hysterical- that, or Bellatrix as the new house ghost.

[identity profile] baronyiffington.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is that they aren't even ATTEMPTING to follow the story of the book.

The book was about the POST apocalypse world, where all the zombies are already dead and people are rebuilding.

The movie is about some guy trying to STOP the zombies.

Completely different story, with the name World War Z slapped on it to lure the book fans in for a cheap buck. It doesn't even have the same fucking main character.

[identity profile] agnes-bean.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, that was me. Not sure why it turned out anon.

(Anonymous) 2011-09-04 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
He behaves like the offensive one on that show where he's traveling around France with the other fellow to drink the wine. Somehow after watching an episode of that, I was never surprised again when he was crude on Top Gear.
(To be clear, I do enjoy watching TG, and I like all three of the presenters.)

Re: OP

[identity profile] cousinmary.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
A lot of the rich, "legacy" familes, like the Kennedys do that. The mother's last name is the child's middle name. I've always thought it was a nice way to pay respect to both families without resorting to the dreadeed hyphen.

[identity profile] murderershair.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hipster Littlefinger sounds hilariously terrifying. I feel like I know several analogues to Cersei, myself, though come to think of it, one of them is a toss up between Cersei and Arianne. I think the most confusing part about assigning people to characters is you often get several people who are equally suited for one character. And, of course, that somebody always feels insulted.

[identity profile] errancies.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
lmao, the thought of Bellatrix as the new house ghost is unbearably hilarious. I'm going to frantically search for fanfic about this now

Although can you imagine how it would be for Neville (being the professor of herbology at Hogwarts in the future) having to see his parent's torturer trolling around the school on a daily basis? ~awkward~

Hell, she would probably get bored and just float in the back of his class and mock him for funzies

Also, now I'm shipping Peeves/Bellatrix(/Red Baron?) for some reason. Whhhhhy
