I'm a lesbian, but I do wonder if all the shows I grew up on about people in their 30s and 40s (including Sentinel and SG-1 - SGA started when I was 23) contributed to the fact that my preferences seems to be for women who are about 15-20 years older than I am.

Are you me? (Amanda and Alex? Yes please. Really really. Also Maura Tierney (oh dear god ESPECIALLY with the short hair cut she had recently), and Torri Higginson.

Also for me though, Star Trek Voyager was one of those shows as well. I was madly in love with Janeway.

Oh, yes, definitely Voyager too. And for me, also X-Files and Earth 2. When I was a girl I had gigantic posters of Janeway and Scully on my wall that I'd gotten out of Starlog and had 8x10s of Beverly Crusher and Devon Adair from Earth 2 on my closet doors.

...honestly, it's a wonder it took me as long to figure out I was a lesbian as it did.
