And yet, this wouldn't make me feel any better about their lack of woman directors/main characters.

Usually when I see this brought up, it's by people who really don't want to believe that Pixar has any issues at all.

No one would care that they removed a female director from the film if they actually had an appreciable number of female directors to begin with.

Just FYI, the majority of the major staff is still female, which is pretty unusual for Hollywood.
