Personality and plot-wise, I would agree. Kitana has always been one of my favorite female characters from a video game.

Same here--I was the biggest fantard back in my wee years, I even learned how to fight with steel fans.

Speaking of, the real thing is a damn sight heavier than what the games imply.

Or Kitana is just that strong, which is probably more likely.

That is awesome! I so need to learn a martial art.

I didn't even know there were real fans like that. I thought her weapons were just something made up for the game. But I just Googled it, and apparently there were "war fans" in the feudal era.

I bet they would have to be heavy to inflict any decent damage with the blades.

Oh yeah! Now, technically speaking, Kitana's light fans would be possible--really thin sheet metal would do the trick. However, the steel fans they use today are very thick, and very heavy--they're better for defense when open, and offense when closed.

As much as I hate to give praise to it, the way the fans were used in the second MK movie is more accurate to how they're used, at least with the common models.
