He's always been kind of off-- especially when he's flirting or attempting to make some sexual reference-- but this was really... extreme for him.

It had to do more with the Museum setup he had going. He was collecting "Trophies" for his base.

That was it! He said something along the lines of having his fun with her before he cuts her head off. The display itself had a space on a mannequin's body for it.

Specifically, I think he says that she'll be fun for a few minutes before he cuts her head off. So, not specifically a rape reference but the mind certainly goes there after listening to the thugs all day.

I have to wonder if it's really necessary to include all that disturbing dialogue. That does seem over the top to me. *is creeped out* Definately not what I remember the comic world to be.

I agree. It honestly disgusts me. I take time out of quests to beat those ass hats up specifically. I don't think it's necessary. They could have left out the sexual assault references and the effect/atmosphere of the game would be pretty much the same.

To me, it's like a middle schooler saying "Fuck" in a sentence to sound more "mature."

I think the level of grossness was definitely intentional. I don't know how far you are into the game, so I won't go into too much detail, but towards the end of the game there's a part where Batman has to chose between the life of one (good) person or the life of a hundred (bad) people. And it really drives home the point that maybe the hundred aren't worth saving, since they're all the lowest level of humanity.

I think that would be more Jason Todd's MO than anything Batman would do (and wouldn't have been Jason's, either, until they resurrected him as a lunatic instead of simply less forgiving than Bruce)

If game makers are going to throw in characters that go about making sexual threats, I want my character to be able to aim weapons at their junk, and I want all the appropriate ragdoll physics and reaction voiceclips to ensue. I also want to unlock achievements if I do it often or spectacularly enough.

I can get Travis Touchdown to finish off prone baddies with a beam katana thrust into their asses (lucky positioning), and I can get Amaterasu (freaking GODDESS in wolf form) to piss and shit on demons -- I don't think Bats or Catwoman are above a little nut crushing, especially when the targets would so richly deserve it.

Well it's not a specific intentional nutshot, but occasionally when you do a ground takedown, Batman will land on their face and punch them in the crotch... Probably a glitch but an awesome one.
