That's always what I thought about it. I think Heero and Duo had maybe three scenes together, and they were short. So I really just fail to see it. D: ♥ for you
Re: 8
I don't know -- there's a lot of art where they're draping all over each other for some reason, it's true. I'm sure they become friends. But the pairing just comes out of nowhere for me. It's just the penultimate of self-fulfilling prophecy. Everyone writes it, so new fans read it and like it and they write it, and no one actually watches the original and thinks about it anew. :\
Re: 8
That always does squick me, people taking fanfiction for canon without even bothering with the original series. Or, people who read fanfiction first, then watch the original series.
But I'll shut up now before I go on about that.Re: 8
I was just talking about it with a friend. My personal resistance (besides the huge surge of popularity over such an unfounded pairing) is that I feel like they don't jive -- Heero is the kind of emotional stunted where he needs patience and care to coax him into any sort of real reaction, and Duo in my head gets kind of frustrated by his lack of reaction before he could approach that point. He needs a reason to put that much effort into something and "maybe we'd be friends" isn't quite enough.
Why does so much of fandom make me cry? I can't stand it, gah. You'd think GW didn't have way, way too much plot from the way these clueless fic-fangirls write.
