Well, maybe not BFFs exactly, but...

Penn has said in interviews that in terms of their business partnership, they're soulmates, and that while they didn't begin their partnership based on friendship, over the years Teller is like a best friend to him.

He's also said that they do see each other socially, but maybe only once or twice a year. When you work with someone so often for nearly three decades straight, I guess socializing outside of work really isn't necessary. They've got a close bond that might not fit within the conventional ideas of friendship, but hell... it's close enough.

Just because they don't hang out all the time - WHICH THEY SEEM TO ANYWAYS BECAUSE OF WORK - doesn't make them not friends :s
