Oh FFS. It's really tiresome that so many readers got this bizarre rigid superstition from some rule book somewhere that "No one should do anal without prep EVER cause it HUUUUUURRTS" and continue to believe that's always the case for every character in every story, regardless of how many people with actual experience in real life tell them otherwise.

I appreciate all the "no, no necessarily" posters here, but unfortunately, it never seems to make a significant dent in the misinformation.

Which is what makes writing anal sex such a pain, because you can either go the route of "in real life, some couples don't actually do the whole prep thing" and get people posting about "OMG NO LUBE OW!" on [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] about it, or you do the boilerplate one-two-three fingers+lube because you hate writing that part and then it's just bad writing.

The real problem

They really just need to lampshade it. Most striaght guys know you need lube for them homosex'yals to put the peen in the mangina (or anything into an orifice; nothing feels more awkward than a dry mouth on your penis :/ .) Most girls, however, don't realize that the moistness they feel down their when they are horny doesn't transplant well to men. For someone who grooms themselves well, dryness is the norm down there.

Or a mention of it not being that tight around as the penis goes in. That is the detail that makes me wilt. Tight and Dry and Zooming Straight in at warp speed?!?!?!?! No. Just No.
