Now I'm reconsidering my above comment, since you just kind of sound frigid. Maybe OP is the same.

DA, but you sound like a bag of dicks. Someone having sex differently than you does not equal frigid, and for that matter, some of us don't like to talk during sex because we just show people what we want. Not our fault you have to explicitly describe everything to your partner.

Hey, it's not a dick move to say someone is frigid unless you regard frigidity as an insult. Surely you won't disagree with me that some people are frigid?

Anon's comment just struck me as a really inhibited thing to say, like they found it gross or something.

I don't really have any opinion about any of this 'cause, hey, whatever floats anyone's boat in fiction or reality is their business, but I do just have to pop in here and ask: you really don't consider calling some frigid an insult? I'm genuinely curious. Even if you personally don't consider it an insult, you don't see how society as a whole considers the concept a bad thing?

I'm a psych major lol. So, while I realize contextually that it can be a gendered insult to call a woman frigid, I also can't assume OP is female as they've given no indication.

I don't consider it an insult because frigidity does exist, and sexual therapy exists because of it. In this context (not knowing the gender of the poster and already having a discussion of preference) I don't think it consitutes an insult so much as an observation.

My point is that talking during sex, even in fanfiction, is a realistic thing to do. And since the OP seems to be concerned about it being "OOC" for characters to do it, it's not a leap of logic to argue that if OP is butthurt about realism they need to rethink their position.

Well, realistic touches to unrealistic things is what helps the suspension of disbelief. I mean, whether or not the realistic touch is talking during sex doesn't matter, I just am not a fan of this argument. It reminds me of "ITS FICTION WHO CARES" that happens if you point out a TV show had a character acting against something they did in the past that ruined the suspension of disbelief for me. Sure, you can mess with stuff for the fun of the story, but once people start noticing and being distracted because of the unrealistic elements, you have an issue.

But on topic: man, we should all really stop caring about whether or not it's okay that someone doesn't like awkward sex talk. It's a preference.

And if OP's uncomfortable with it, so what? They may simply not prefer it in their sex. That doesn't make them frigid or virginal; it just means they have different preferences about what goes in when they're in bed with someone, or when their favorite ships are in bed.
