Not only that, but there's the whole aspect of Angel/Buffy being an equal relationship -- Buffy is a slayer who can (and does) kick Angel's ass when she needs to. Bella is a walking bait, a free snack to munch on for every vampire that sees her. She needs others to define her existence, her self-worth. She's a fucking parasite. Angel's a force of nature. Edward's a century old virgin who suffered from a middle age crisis and solved it by attending a high school.
