Because clearly the crush was only infatuated with *their* love interest because of their Asian-ness. Not because the love interest actually chats with the crush and treats the crush like an intelligent human being. No, it has to be the Asian-ness.
That's my theory. Though I love the descriptors for black-tar vomit, I must admit I am quite impressed with the vivid imagery in just a few words.
