I just like that you can basically ship all of these girls with any one of them and it can be taken as undertones or just friendship. I just feel bad for Mami because she seems like the odd one out in most ships/fanarts

Homura's my favourite though so I prefer Homura/Madoka but yeah Madoka seems pretty shippable with almost anyone in this show, haha.

HAHA yeah it's the same thing as people constantly making terrible puns about Mami 'losing her head' etc. I was really upset when she died, she was my favourite, but.. idk I guess it's just this thing in fandom so people just get used to it.

I friend!ship the whole series haha. I like friendship stories, especially because I can't really see any romantic connotations since the series was so short, especially between Sakaya and Kyouko. o_o I don't see any romantic bonds there. But I know from the reading around that the creators kind of wanted it to be like that.

Shipping Kyoko/Sayaka more than HomuMado is hardly an unpopular opinion. I actually ship both, but I'm admittedly tired of the way a lot of KyoSaya fans treat HomuMado, and I do think it's preeeetty out there to say that KyoSaya is more canon than HomuMado, as a lot of them do. And I'm also tired of those fans hating on Homura, because Kyoko isn't any better.

...what the fuck? Why is this Kyoko/Sayaka fan bashing necessary? OP never tried to claim that Kyoko/Sayaka is "more canon" so why are you dragging that in here? just that they personally more saw HomuMado as a friendship. tbhany relationship between these girls can be interpreted multiple ways. for instance, some people saw Sayaka as having a crush on Madoka. others didn't. one can do the same with Madoka and Homura or Kyoko and Sayaka. it's not a claim that one is "more canon" unless that's actually said. :/

Kyoko and Homura are very different characters. Homura is more cold and distant, Kyoko is passionate to the point of emotional extreme. some people find one more compelling and the other hard to sympathize with.

just. why the attacks on Kyoko/Sayaka here? it doesn't even compete with Homura/Madoka jfc

Um. Wow. First of all, there's no bashing of anyone in my comment. I used no vitriolic language at all (whereas your comment sort of did). Secondly, all I did was point out an attitude I see often that frustrates me, which admittedly this secret did sort of remind me of.

Regarding Kyoko vs. Homura: I certainly have no issue with someone preferring one girl over the other. Of course that's fine! What I was pointing out was that a lot of people dislike Homura for being mean and uncaring when Kyoko is no better in that regard. Both of them only really show their caring side to one person in the present time. They're similar in that regard, if very, very different in the presentation of it. And there are Kyoko fans pointing out that they dislike Homura in this very thread, so it's not that random.

And I never 'attacked' anyone, but certainly I didn't attack Kyoko/Sayaka. I expressed frustration toward a fan attitude, not anything about the pairing itself (which I like!) or the series.

Tbh, I can't ship Kyoko/Sayaka unless it's one-sided on Kyoko's part. I can't see Sayaka having romantic feelings for Kyoko, but the unrequited love idea to me is sweet.

I love Madoka/Homura, but really, I just friend ship all the girls in a big fluffy friendship pile.

Partially agreed. I do ship Homura/Madoka, albeit not as much as Mami/Madoka, but Kyoko/Sayaka just clicked with me a lot more strongly. I dunno. I mean, I understand why so many people only see it as onesided and don't think that, even under different circumstances, Sayaka would ever reciprocate, but just. I dunno. I think she would. I think in a different scenario those two would have an amazing love and just. I ship it. Hard. It's gonna be my series OTP forever. ♥

...Also I fail at life because my favorite ship for Homura? Walpurgisnacht/Homura. idefk. I hate Charlotte/Mami for all the reasons that Walpurgisnacht/Homura is a terrible idea, what even, self.

...Also tbh there are very few potential character combinations that I don't ship at all. I don't ship Mami/Sayaka, I can only see them as friends with a mentor and student thing going on as well, and I can only see Kyoko and Madoka as good friends. Any other combo of the main 5, though? Shippable in my book.

I ship both those pairs, but I'm not actively in the fandom for them? Idk. I feel bad for Mami like some other people do too because she's my favourite. OT3 or Love Triangle: Mami/Kyouko/Sayaka? I just think those sets have very strong subtext, to the point of being all but stated, between them.
