It's not a "definitive greats" run-down or anything, just a two-minute list of stuff I found at least okay.

I would give you better recs if there were any. Unfortunately, it's like an entire genre full of nothing but Twilight and Harlequin novels. I kind of side-eye anybody who admits to liking yaoi/BL series unironically. They're all shit.

Because I've slagged through at least three volumes of each one before giving up.

Have you read Masara Minase's Empty Heart? It's my number one favorite. Well, it and Tori Maia's Hoshi no Yakata. The latter is hardcore BDSM yaoi, which is not for everyone (some things in it squick me) but it actually has a plot, likable characters and character development.

Don't even compare the two. Lupin was clever and hilarious. Eroica was flat and boring and dragged on about ten volumes after it ran out of what little story it had.

I like both (Lupin III is my favorite anime of all time)
