Haha, this. Or it'll just end before it even comes to that.

I mean I haven't watched the show in like two years though so I guess I don't know anyway.

But yeah, I do think Justin deserves the powers more, even though I like Alex more than him. Or MAYBE Max... he's not as into it and he's not as responsible, but he needs time to grow up before I think it's fair to compare him to Justin that way. :/

This is what I think, too. Disney is going to have them go through the Wizard Competition and then have them all win it.

But if that's not the case, it's going to be Alex. Why? Because she's the main character. How did you not see this from the first time the competition was mentioned? I thought it was obvious.

Err, since the beginning?

Granted, I've only seen a couple of episodes that I watched while babysitting (the kids I watched LOVED Disney Channel), but it felt pretty obvious.

Though, like above anon said, I'd bet that the show will end up like "They all get their powers, yaay!"

That's the thing is that Alex does seem like the favorite but it's Disney channel so...

yeah. Idk, I just figured that since they're pushing Selena Gomez as a star, they'd want to make her the one to get the powers. Or aforementioned "you all keep them surprise!"

Tbh, I hate this show, but I find myself watching it anyway. I felt bad for Justin until he turned into as much of a jerk as Alex. Now I only feel bad for Max. He's the least selfish of the three, but not a single person is rooting for him.

I kinda feel the same way. I used to watch this show every so often, but all the Alex-as-Jerk-Sue thing sorta took over and I stopped caring. I wish Justin would get the recognition he deserves.

From what I can remember, it has to do with some weird clause that says only one sibling is allowed to inherit the wizard powers and they must compete against their other siblings to do so. plus iirc, marrying a non-wizard means you forfeit the powers automatically

This. It's an inherit part of the wizarding world, with some confusing implications. Basically, there can only be one family wizard (though whether the parent forfeits power to the child after the competition is unknown), and siblings must compete for the right to the powers. The sibling with the highest ranking when the children are all of sufficient age and advancement within the competition may set the date for the competition, giving him or her an advantage.

Marrying a non-wizard means you lose your powers (though this seems to have no effect on children inheriting magical powers). Powers may be given to a sibling, at the cost of the winner's magic (meaning that the competition does not ensure power going to the best candidate; in fact, the prime example of this rule uses magic poorly and often dangerously).

And, yes, it is cruel. One character, Stevie, tried to cause an uprising that would have allowed all wizarding children to keep their powers, but she was stopped by the main characters. It was never clearly explained why this would be a bad thing, though there was the implication that it was an evil thng to do and would allow evil wizards to retain their power. It also shows that the one Family Wizard rule is contrived and not some natural law.

Yeah, and then she got broken into a million pieces when (I think) Max bumped into her. And no one, not even her brother, cared. Way harsh.

I keep thinking it'll be Max, like how their crazy uncle got the powers from Jerry and isn't that just the best choice because what else would he do with himself if he didn't have magic? But I'm with you - I really think Justin deserves it the most.

To me, Justin and Alex resolved they'd make it together (solving problems, making their own band, etc.), so I think Max would be an awesome choice. Plus, it seems like it's foreshadowing when they showed the way Jerry and his siblings handled it, just with a happier ending.

I think Max should get it. The only reason I watched the show was because of Harper's fashion statements and Max's outlandish personality. I think I stopped because Justin and Alex annoyed me. Especially when they didn't really care they almost messed up Max's life. Like, really? Disney, really?

I used to watch this show a lot but have missed a lot of the later episodes. I always thought Alex would get it though. But now I'm not so sure. I think it'll probably be all of them, or maybe Justin. Honestly, I like Max but I don't think he'd be a good choice for the Family Wizard, unless he's changed since I stopped watching. :/ I will probably watch on the 6th anyway just to see who wins.
