Which pills worked OP? Send me a PM if you wish. I've been battling it for years (since about 12. 28 now) and I can't find a med that works for me. (effexor, serquil, trazadone, paxil, prozac, ambien, abilify, and cymbalta are the ones I remember being on.)

OP here. I'm on citalopram and amytripiline. (Don't know the commercial names for them, sorry.) I actually started taking different kinds of anti-depressants to try to deal with a pain disorder and anxiety. I could handle the nothingness/sadness, but I could NOT handle the pain anymore.

Once my body chemistry settled in, I realized that not only had they (sort of) worked for the pain but that I was also feeling better than I had in *years*. I was suspicious about it for a while, but it's been a little over a year now and I'm still feeling pretty okay. Good days, bad days, but nothing like before when I could hardly get out bed.

Meds were unfortunately not so helpful on the anxiety front, but I'm doing better on that too just because I'm not a depressed, hurting mess anymore.

When I had depression, taking St John's Wort extract really helped. It's expensive, though, and make sure you get one that contains actual St John's Wort and not some kind of homeopathic water thing.
