This movie is awesome. In my opinion it's the funniest Disney movie, and the characters are great.

My sister and I feel that "Emperor's New Groove" is like Mean Girls: there is never a situation where there isn't an applicable quote.

TANGENT but there's a car or insurance or something commercial where the announcer guy sounds JUST LIKE KRONK, to the point where I think he might actually be Kronk. Every time it comes on, all I can think of is "Riiiight, the poison, the poison to kill Kuzco, the poison specially chosen to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison. ...that poison?"

It's loved, but it's so... not-Disney. It's got the kind of humor that you expect more from a Looney Tunes cartoon, not a Disney movie. I think that's the only thing that can be held against it.

Perfect screenshot choice, amazing film.

(Though, as a Sting fan, I would have loved to have seen what became of Kingdom of the Sun, since Snuff Out the Light is my favorite Disney villain song pretty much. But I wouldn't trade The Emperor's New Groove for it.)

I think Emperor's New Groove is fucking funny and entertaining.

The only hate I've ever seen for it came from weird Disney snobs who claimed it was the most horrible movie Disney ever made (+ Hercules and that cow movie) just because it had too much slapstick and wasn't "magical" enough *cough*

Joining in on the New Groove love! This is probably one of my top favorite Disney movies. The restaurant scene kills me every time.

Personally I love it when Disney does something different from the norm, and does it well. There's only so many musical adaptions of fairy tales/legends you can do.

I don't think I've met someone who doesn't like this film. I'd probably put it ahead of some from the early 90s golden age as well. I didn't see it when it was out though cos I was about 15 and going through my "I'm too cool for Disney, only BABIES watch that bla blah" phase but one day it was on Sky when I was a little older and I couldn't remember at that point the last time I'd got to a point where I couldn't stop laughing. Basically this film made me realise you're never too old for Disney :p
