I think the movie was SO AWFUL, but I also enjoy watching it because it's just fun to watch. I don't think it's a bad thing to like it! I'm an enormous FF7 fan and as much as I despise how it was done, I get the giddies seeing the characters portrayed in such amazing graphics.

That and Reno and Rude were so well done it almost makes up for the rest. ALMOST. I watch their shenanigans repeatedly.

Even so, my hopes are they don't butcher the remake of the game as badly.

Lol, inorite. I thought it was the one bright spot in all of the FF7 tie-ins. It's just gloriously over-the-top. One might even say... videogamey.

I love it as a guilty pleasure. Yeah, it kinda messed with my headcanon a little (am I so bad for wanting a happy ending for these guys after all they'd been through?) but it was really fun to watch. And as a previous commenter said, mama-bear!Tifa is seven shades of awesome. :D

I can sympathize. I like the Hellsing Gonzo anime. I see all the flaws, believe me, but... it's my fandom and Gonzo Walter cheers me up.

It's wrong of me, but I just sit home with my little four-box DVD set and write Gonzoverse fic and enjoy myself.

I love it. I don't care what others think because there is no harm in liking it if it makes you happy. No one will explode, nothing will catch on fire, etc.

I love it, OP, especially ACC for that added bit of closure. Even worse in the eyes of hardcore elitists, the characterizations make sense to me given the circumstances everyone was in. The original game had a very 'piece it together yourself' approach to storytelling and to me AC was the same, even if it doesn't work well in movie format. One thing I find annoying/amusing about the pockets of AC hate, pre-movie there were TONS of fic out there with Cloud being emo and wandering off to find himself while Tifa tended the bar, hoping he would come back. We got what we wanted and now people complain. Douches. :P

I am such a sucker for any and all of the compilation stuff. I love it all, and love the movie the most!

It's a fun movie if you pretend it's just a big fanfic TBH. I treat almost everything in the compilation like that now. I love Kadaj. <3

It's fanservice. It's got badass graphics and fights and characters we like and shiny things, and it sacrificed physics in the name of awesome forever. Enjoy it without shame.

I like that movie too, for what it was. Don't let the elitist make you feel ashamed about it.

These puritanical fans who use phrases like 'they butchered the characters' are completely incapable of separating one thing from another. FFVII is a PS1 game. The characters are clearly not the same polygons with text boxes anymore so of course it's going to be different. Yeah it's the same series but ultimately it's it's own thing. Take it or leave it.

I love this movie. I also love Spirits Within (they're my hungover Saturday movies).

I've never played a Final Fantasy game.

I love this movie too, because I loved the game so much. I loved seeing everyone in amazing graphics rather than little pixel-like characters, and gave me (false?) hope about them someday remaking FFVII. Of course, they can't change anything when they do remake it because it is flawless already, but just adding such phenomenal graphics would be so awesome.

And this scene! GAH! I love it. I need to find myself a background for my computer.

A lot of fans hate it but I don't think you have to. Especially if you can acknowledge the flaws. I really loved it, myself.
