...is it weird that I ship pretty much all of those pairings, minus the co-dependence part? Seriously, co-dependency turns me off so much, and I end up writing them as "really, really good friends who can live without each other if they have to, but they don't want to. Plus sex." I guess I'm doing it wrong. :/

Yeah, that's how I am with my best friends (minus the sex part ;) ) We'd do anything for each other and I'd die for my best friend in a heart beat. But we're still our own people, we have our own lives, and COULD technically get along without each other. Co-depency of any kind turns me off, too, because I've had codependent friendships and also codependent romantic relationships and let me tell you, they do NOT end well.

Nope, you aren't weird at all. I'm horribly squicked by extreme codependence, especially if people overemphasize it and fetishize it when the canon versions of the characters were perfectly able and content to leave each other behind and live their lives happily without each other if it suited their needs. In the examples given above, I only know a few of them very well but I do know that Shawn left Gus and Santa Barbara behind for years and Erik didn't seem like he was all that troubled by walking out on Charles.
