Really? I feel pretty good about it, myself. She's pretty much the only woman in the series who's allowed to be a total goofball and isn't constantly in femme fatale mode.

I think this is one of the reasons people were so upset to see Steph kicked out of the Batgirl role. She got to be goofy, crack bad jokes, wobble and mis-step but still triumph, and all without being in constant femme fetale mode. You was bubbly and fun and, to me, that did make her sexy, but her character didn't trade off of her sexuality in a way that was all about male gaze, which is something female comic book characters have inflicted on them all the damn time. She even got to flirt with people without it being about aggressive sexuality, which is what every single female character seems to be written as doing when they're pursuing a man. It was nice to see some variety. Cass also didn't fall into the usual femme fatale mode traps, until her solo title ending and somebody decided to make her a sexy dragon lady villain. :(
