Ugh that Doctor Who special. So much facepalm. "As I woman, I respect her enough not to shoot her, woman to woman, yaknow." "You're strong, because your a mother!" Yes mothers can be tremendously strong people, but it was just like... because she had babies, not because of all the choices and decisions she had to make raising them. (After they went through all that nonsense about the sister being stronger solely because she was a girl.)

And Mothership. YOUR PUN IS SO BAD. Crying rn tbh.

I've been starting to wonder, especially after that special, if Moffat has some form of the Madonnas and whores complex. Like he can't really see women beyond either being a mother or someone to fuck. Even when he has young girl characters, if given the chance he will age them up to make them one of the two.

I can't even put all my thoughts into words but I had trouble enjoying the Christmas special because come on Moffat, please re-examine how you write women.

That's exactly where my thought process went too. His women are either mother's or seductresses. I guess Amy's both.

Ohgod, that whole thing bothered me so much. Particularly as someone who doesn't want children, but also just in the general sense that saying women aren't "strong" unless they've given birth is gross and intensely misogynistic. :\
