It's a children's show. It covers history but it does it in a way that is kid friendly. For fuck's sake.

Actually, the anime isn't either. It's more a teens+ thing, although the channel it originally aired on was mostly for kids, it's like Cartoon Network, where it's late night hours are aimed at an older audience, because who else is up that late?

Ah I mean more that the anime wouldn't really be that inappropriate for children. There are a few jokes later in the series that might be risque, but for the most part they avoid animating any of the really rated F for France strips, or the very profane (language wise) ones.

I really don't care about Hetalia either way, but Hetalia is not for kids, it's for teenagers and older.

The anime used to air on TV between 1AM and 2AM and all it's marketing aims it an older age group.

Okay, whatever you want to say about this show, do not pretend it has any real value in an educational way. I'll concede it's possible to gain an interest in and learn about events by proxy, but no kid who watches this sans context is going to have any real grasp on history.
