It's a very sensitive and deeply personal issue that a lot of people get extremely passionate about on both sides of the debate, so I'd say putting a trigger warning on it would be justified.

I wouldn't tell someone I'm into manga. I don't want to be seen as an otaku.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
What?

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I gotta agree. Haven't seen a minute of it, but I don't like that design at all.

[identity profile] seiberwing.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Be strong. Even if you're taking your strength off fictional characters it doesn't make the motivation you get any less real.

Abortion is a sensitive subject for a lot of people and for a number of reasons both the procedure and the discussion thereof can bring back really bad memories. That's generally what a trigger is; I think instead of assuming people who are triggered by this kind of talk are just overreacting pro-lifers, we should take triggers seriously and respect the people who are affected by them. Your comment is really dismissive.

"We're going to steal the Declaration of Independance~ ♥"

"...Whut..."

/not actually how the scene goes but whatever. :D

I understand not telling just a random person in the street or a casual friend, but would you really not tell your significant other? I would feel if I couldn't tell them what I was into, they weren't the right person :/

[identity profile] neko-9786.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The fact is Haters gonna Hate!

I also feel bad for them because they miss fun, happy side of fandoms.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I definitely don't want to watch the new series. I was curious before 'cos I lurve my Loony Tunes, but. but. Lola. LOLA WHYYY. Her new design is terrible.

[identity profile] sensualcoco.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, I would watch the hell out of that.

[identity profile] bamboo.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Arg, me too! I got the books as a set for Christmas a few years ago, so I read four in one go but just... arg!

SPOILERS BELOW!!!

Yeah, they hook up once and then he dies XD (turned into Strigoi). Rose goes awol and goes after him for a whole book (oh, this is where we see a whole village of blood whores), and there's more sexual tension because he withholds sex to try to manipulate her into joining the dark side... and she eventually stakes him and throws him off a bridge, but he survives. But then Lissa is a Spirit user, so she brings him back to life in the next book.

No prob! It's kinda fun revisiting old fandoms. :D

I'm sorry for your loss OP. Losing a good friend is always tough no matter what the circumstances between you.

[identity profile] cloud-riven.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I think this is fair. Personally, I find her more enjoyable in the new show, but she has no resemblance to how she was introduced. They may as well be two completely different characters, which sucks for her original fans.

It's like Disney's Goofy in a way.

[identity profile] writerserenyty.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
lol XD

It's such a ridiculous premise that you have to enjoy it XD

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I had those sorts of thoughts as well. (For instance, I remember that I was very good in school but imagined that actually everyone around me was infinitely clever than me and humouring me/laughing behind my back.) My best friend mentioned having those sort of ideas at one point as well.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if most people felt like that at some point, even for a short period.

[identity profile] broadwaybabe11.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
There are sale male bloodwhores, too! Like Ambrose!

[identity profile] anna-sg1.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL same here. I have all the Holmes books and I've read them a million times. I love the movies and only like the show. :D

But like someone already said, they're completely defferent interpretations so... IDK, I can enjoy both of them without comapring them too much... or at all.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. I love Jerri and I love that series.

[identity profile] bamboo.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I got this series with House of Night, and Blue Bloods for Christmas a few years ago. All vampire-centric. oTL 18 books! H-how do you keep track? @_@

[identity profile] broadwaybabe11.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just gonna say I adore Vampire Academy..
The first book of the spin off, though.. such a let down. /:

[identity profile] loracarol.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! ♥

[identity profile] sensualcoco.livejournal.com 2012-01-15 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I like them both equally. And I like the films for the exact reasons you listed. (Also the awesome Victorian costumes.)

BBC!John is my baby though. I just love him so much.

(Anonymous) 2012-01-15 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I just dislike everything Guy Ritchie does tbh. Including Madonna.
