I once posted a secret that no-one commented on; this was back when there were quite a few number of comments (at least 500+, nearing 1000).
And usually my secrets have a lot of comments, so Idk what happened. In conclusion; happens to everyone.

Poster of the doujinshi secret here: sorry technophile, I didn't mean to offend, but I'm new to things like doujinshi creation, and really didn't know where to start.
I would really appreciate it if someone/anyone could point me in the right direction though!

Generally, the best idea would be to try asking around comms of the fandom you want to write for. Comms for discussion or RP or general fanworks, things like that. Ask around to see if there are any artists interested in doujinshi, or approach fanartists that you think might match what you want!

If you're looking for advice, I'd suggest artists_beware on lj. The posts are mainly on furry art but also deal with art in general and they have LOTS of advice on commissioning people. You could probably post there if you have any questions (maybe note the mods first to make sure it's ok, or to direct you to a more appropriate source).

I think the most important thing you need to understand is that if you ARE looking for an artist, they're going to expect to get paid. Politeness and good manners will get you far in any business transaction. Comments like "looking for an artist pls email me with samples of your work"? are not going to help you, even if you mean it sincerely.

Ok, seriously, what the hell is #17 (http://i39.tinypic.com/28bhg2c.jpg) from? I sorta recognize it, but can't put a name to it.

Not sure, but it might be from Gargoyles or the X-men cartoons from the 90s.

So am I the only one horribly embarrassed by the Sherlock fandom's graffiti campaign? Seriously guys, chill, and leave fandom online.

Yeah I was all for putting up posters, that's pretty harmless, but when it's actual graffiti that's more than a little bit annoying. For a start, on public property we have to pay the taxes for the cleanups. On private property whoever owns the building has to fix it. Graffiti is illegal for a reason, and doing in the name of fandom just gives fandom a bad name.

Not the only one, definitely not. I honestly like the designs, but I think I'd rather see photoshops or just an illustrator-made image, than know fandom can be so stupid to fuck actual private property.

Oh god what?

I thought the fanart and button thing was kind of cute, but actual graffiti? WTF

SOPA blackout is going down tomorrow (18th) on Wikipedia, Failblog, Reddit and a couple others. Just wondering what FS thinks about it.

At first I didn't really see what it would accomplish, but on further thinking I see what they're doing. I don't know if SOPA would be as extreme to censor the internet to the point that it becomes like Nintendo wi-fi where the only communication you can have is through per-determinded speech bubbles, but it'd be a lot less fun. This community might even have to die because of the use of copyright material in the secrets if LJ didn't want to pay up the fines. And I honestly don't think the amount of piracy that goes on outweighs the amount of clever creativity people use copyrighted material in their works. I was browsing YouTube and realized that 90% of the things I'm watching wouldn't be able to be published. They're weren't harming anyone and actually did the opposite, it's free advertisement. I pretty much bought Skyrim after seeing all the jokes and crap about it and thought it might be a pretty cool game to play now as opposed to waiting a year or two when it's much cheaper.

I'm glad to hear there's been a delay on the bill, but it's disheartening to know the threat will still (and probably always) be there.
