yeaaaah but it's not like doing cute things really mitigates the stalkery behavior you know? i'd be okay with it if meyer didn't gloss over it the way she does, but it really seems like ALL of edward's mannerisms, good or bad, are portrayed as wonderful and perfect. that's the problem.

I dunno about that... Bella got incredibly pissed off at him for basically kidnapping her. It wasn't like she was mooning over him for it. She repeatedly tried to sneak out to see her friend, and Jacob (if I recall correctly) made comments about how fucked up it was that he was locking her up.
