While I think this is probably straight from Trollville and I disagree with most of it... I do think I've seen some anti-slash fans create Sues just because they don't like slash pairings. (Since the secret is Transformers, let me just say I'm thinking specifically here of that one fan who created a female OC to pair with Galvatron, while ranting elsewhere that pairing Galvatron and Cyclonus is icky because all that gay stuff makes them unmanly and they're supposed to be Big Manly... uh... Robots.)

And I also agree that the female Autobots in G1 are terribly lackluster. I do think female characters in various continuities are getting better, though they do tend to be a wee bit over-stereotypical (I like both Arcee and Airachnid in Prime, for example, but it's veeeeeeeery obvious what archetypes they're supposed to fit.)

The Beast Wars females are the only TF chicks I've ever liked. Even if there were only two of them, they were both kind of badass in their own way.

I really couldn't get into Beast Wars at all. Maybe I gave up on it before it got good, but it just never quite held my interest. I really don't know why, as I can usually forgive a lot, and most people deem it one of the better ones.

Really I feel like I can agree with this secret under the stipulation it's only applied to transformers G1, because those girls really sucked. Every one of them needed a boyfriend? Really? Were they that afraid people might have drawn conclusion from the genders living separate during the war? And TF fanfic is just so prevalently full of really bad female OCs there for the soul purpose of shipping with male characters.

Disagree with your assessment on the TFP women though, they're not any more archetyped than the guys. Airachnid doesn't even fit one imo--she seems like a femme fatale at a glance, but she doesn't actually do anything related to the archetype.

I like to think that. She hasn't used her sexuality even once to grab power, I really appreciate the writers made that choice, since it was what made me hate TFA BA. I like to think she knows she's hot but doesn't feel the need to use it because she's also intelligent and powerful (not that she doesn't get the short end of the stick as much as other power-grubbing Decepticons).

Also I'd like to correct "soul" on my previous post to "sole" but I didn't notice until you replied and now I can't edit, oops.
