Haha! JK! JK!
Just curious, but do you not write for your fans at all? I'm not arguing that you don't write for yourself (all authors do, I'm sure), but I'm just wondering if you don't have your fans in mind at all when you write fic.
Like I said, just curious.

(Anonymous) 2012-02-11 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)If I do take readers into account, it's not plotwise but for update speed (i.e. it's been forever since they had an update, people are waiting, might want to get on that before it gets ridiculous). If I do write a plot with someone other than me mainly in mind, either they requested/donated to a good cause for it, it was a special occasion gift, or they're a close friend I knew would be tickled pink by a particular idea I had anyway. Most readers never actually say anything so I don't know them well enough to 'write for them'.

Sometimes I may think 'how will this be received' particularly if it involves an OC, but mostly I write as ^^ stated because I have too or else my brain won't shut the frak up. Not that it isn't rewarding having people comment and say they enjoyed it but I'd say a large percentage of my work goes unread by anyone that isn't my good fandom friend.

(Anonymous) 2012-02-12 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)Then there's absolutely no reason to post them online. Keeping them in private journals would accomplish the very same thing.
